1. Emissions avoided
We measured all the CO2 emissions generated along our value chain – from procurement and packaging through to logistics and transport. We then compared these emissions with those generated when a new garment, book or media item is produced. This allowed us to calculate the CO2 saved per item. In 2023, together with our customers, we saved over 52.000 tonnes of CO2. The slight decrease compared to the previous year is partly due to the fact that at the beginning of the year, we rejected more fashion items. Since then, we only purchase items in good or very good condition because we have found that our customers at momox fashion prefer higher-quality second-hand items. The higher rejection rate resulted in additional emissions from returns or recycling. Due to these factors, the amount of CO2 saved per item is reduced.
